Manel Corrales Tubau

Our story begins when Manel Corrales Tubau starts to work at the ESTELA BERNAREGI factory, where he receives technical training before going on to become first piano tuner at the ORTIZ I CUSSÓ factory in Barcelona.

The renowned pianist Arthur Rubinstein hires Manel to accompany him
on tour as his piano tuner.

Manel’s services are also regularly requested by the great composer Enric Granados.
He also serves other composers, performing the work he loves so dearly: Zamacois, Malats, Ribó, Marschall…

An anecdote: Catalonia’s most universal author, Josep Pla, makes affectionate reference to Manel in one of his books, El meu poble (‘My town’).

Manel moves to Barcelona and opens a piano repair, hire and tuning
workshop at 460, Carrer Còrsega. His son, Raimon Corrales Rovira
(1921-1982) and grandson, Joan Manuel Corrales Ricol, later join the firm, maintaining the repair workshop and extending operations by opening
a shop selling pianos.

Joan Manuel Corrales Ricol and his three children Ester, Sandra and Raimon, open a second shop
with a large display of grand pianos. Today, the different shop and workshop departments combine
to provide the quality service that has distinguished the Corrales family over four generations.
